A Fun Engagement Photoshoot: Mafalda & João at Parque Ambiental do Buçaquinho and Praia de São Pedro de Maceda

Engagement shoots don’t have to be all about grand romantic gestures—they can be about having fun, enjoying the moment, and capturing the real connection between two people. Mafalda and João’s session was exactly that! We explored two amazing locations—Parque Ambiental do Buçaquinho and Praia de São Pedro de Maceda—and had an incredible time along the way.

A Relaxed Walk Through Parque Ambiental do Buçaquinho

We kicked things off at Parque Ambiental do Buçaquinho, a quiet spot full of greenery, wooden walkways, and peaceful lakes. Mafalda and João were all smiles as they strolled through the park, cracking jokes and just enjoying each other's company. There were no stiff poses—just natural moments of laughter, stolen glances, and a whole lot of personality.

The park gave us plenty of great backdrops, from charming bridges to tree-lined paths. At one point, they sat by the water, chatting like they weren’t even in the middle of a photoshoot. That’s the best part of sessions like these—just capturing people as they are.

Beach Vibes at Praia de São Pedro de Maceda

As the afternoon light started to fade, we headed over to Praia de São Pedro de Maceda. With its open coastline, rolling dunes, and fresh ocean breeze, it was the perfect spot for some relaxed, fun shots.

Mafalda and João kicked off their shoes and got straight into it—running along the shore, splashing in the waves, and just enjoying the beach. The wind added a cool, effortless vibe to the shots, with Mafalda’s hair flying around and João pulling her in close to keep her warm. Nothing forced, nothing overly posed—just them being themselves.

As the sun set, we wrapped up the shoot with some laid-back moments—sitting on the sand, watching the waves, and taking it all in. It was the perfect way to end the day.

Capturing the Moment

Mafalda and João’s engagement shoot was all about keeping it real. No over-the-top romance, just two people having fun and making memories in some seriously beautiful locations. If this session is anything to go by, their wedding is going to be just as full of love, laughter, and good vibes!

Engagement Photoshoot in Foz do Arelho | Mariana + André

On a radiant spring afternoon, I had the pleasure of capturing the engagement session of Mariana and André, a vivacious and joyful couple whose energy is truly infectious. Our journey began in the heart of Caldas da Rainha, at the enchanting Parque Dom Carlos I, and concluded with the serene beauty of Praia da Foz do Arelho as the sun dipped below the horizon.

Parque Dom Carlos I, a romantic garden adjacent to the historic Hospital Termal Rainha D. Leonor, provided a picturesque backdrop for the start of our photoshoot. The park's lush greenery, tranquil lake, and charming pathways offered myriad opportunities to showcase Mariana and André's playful spirits. Their laughter echoed through the park as they danced beneath the canopy of trees, their love illuminated by the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves.

Engagement Photoshoot in a Lisbon Garden | Sofia + João

Some couples step in front of the camera like they've been doing it forever. Others, like Sofia and João, start off a little shy, unsure of how to pose, what to do with their hands, or where to look. But that’s where the magic happens—when, little by little, the nerves melt away, replaced by laughter, warmth, and the kind of genuine connection that makes engagement sessions so special.

We met on a beautiful spring afternoon at the enchanting gardens of Museu do Traje in Lisbon. The air was filled with the scent of blooming flowers, and the golden sunlight filtered through the trees, creating the perfect natural backdrop for their love story. Though they admitted to not being big fans of having their photos taken, I reassured them that the best shots come from simply being themselves—talking, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. And that’s exactly what we did.

At first, there were nervous giggles and hesitant smiles, but as we strolled through the gardens, stopping by charming archways and quiet, shaded paths, the tension started to fade. We chatted about how they met, their wedding plans, and all the little things that make their relationship unique. Soon, they were lost in their own world—whispering jokes, stealing glances, and laughing at inside jokes only they understood. And that’s when I captured the most beautiful moments: the unguarded smiles, the way João instinctively reached for Sofia’s hand, and the sparkle in their eyes whenever they looked at each other.

By the end of the hour, it no longer felt like a photoshoot. It was just a fun afternoon spent celebrating their love, with me there to document it. Sofia and João, thank you for trusting me to capture this special chapter in your journey. If your engagement session was any indication, your wedding day will be filled with just as much love, laughter, and joy—and I can’t wait to be there to capture it all!

For couples who feel camera-shy, let this be a reminder: your engagement session isn’t about striking perfect poses—it’s about celebrating your love in the most natural way possible. And I promise, by the end of it, you’ll walk away with beautiful memories (and photos) to cherish forever.

Spring in Lisbon is pure magic—golden sunlight, warm breezes, and the scent of blooming jacaranda trees filling the air. When Margarida and Miguel reached out for their engagement session, they knew they wanted something relaxed, fun, and romantic. We decided on the historic heart of Lisbon, where charming cobblestone streets, azulejo-tiled facades, and breathtaking viewpoints created the perfect setting for their love story.

A Stroll Through Alfama

We started our afternoon in Alfama, one of the city’s oldest and most picturesque neighborhoods. As Margarida and Miguel wandered hand in hand, laughter and sweet glances filled the air. The winding alleyways, lined with colorful buildings and rustic balconies, provided a beautifully intimate backdrop for capturing their genuine connection. Every turn revealed a new hidden gem, from ivy-covered doorways to sun-dappled staircases.

The Iconic Yellow Tram & Riverside Romance

No Lisbon engagement shoot is complete without a touch of its famous yellow trams! As the couple posed playfully in front of one, their joy was contagious—smiles, twirls, and spontaneous embraces made for the most heartwarming shots. We then made our way to the Tagus River, where the soft afternoon light created a dreamy atmosphere. Against the shimmering water and under the grand arches of Praça do Comércio, Margarida and Miguel shared quiet, romantic moments, their love radiating effortlessly.

Golden Hour Magic

As the sun began to dip, we ended the session at Miradouro de Santa Catarina, one of Lisbon’s most breathtaking viewpoints. The golden hues of sunset wrapped around them as they held each other close, soaking in the beauty of the moment. The city stretched out below, a reminder that love—like Lisbon itself—is timeless and full of wonder.

Margarida and Miguel’s engagement photoshoot was everything they dreamed of—relaxed, fun, and deeply romantic. Their love story came to life against the backdrop of this historic city, and I feel so honored to have captured these genuine moments for them.
